Vintage Bronze Sculpture Ombra della Sera, Italy 1950-70s

This captivating vintage metal sculpture with bronze verdigris patina pays homage to the legendary Etruscan votive statuette Ombra della Sera (“Shadow of the Evening”), an iconic 3rd-century BCE bronze from Volterra's Museo Etrusco Guarnacci. Depicting a nude male youth with dramatically elongated, filiform limbs and torso—yet a realistically proportioned head—the piece evokes the original's enigmatic silhouette, said to resemble a human shadow stretched by sunset light.

This mid-20th-century reproduction (Italy, circa 1950s–1970s) bridges ancient mystery and modernist abstraction—often linked to Alberto Giacometti's influence from the same Etruscan source.

The piece is in very good vintage condition. The sculpture partly has the original's label.
